They are capable of producing a large load and absorbing energy relative to the space and volume they occupy, making them a suitable spring for shock absorbers. Plate thickness varies from 1 mm or less to thick ones of up to about 32 mm. Large volute springs can support loads up to 500 kN. We are the only company that continues to pass on the manufacturing techniques for large volute springs. A heated metal plate is formed into a spiral shape with the skill of our craftsmen, and our years and years of expertise establishes the shape and dimensions while creating “gaps”, which are the most essential parts of the volute spring, to produce the load characteristics required.
